Sridevi mocked for rejecting role in ‘Baahubali’

Media from India reported that Sridevi was the original choice for the role of Shivagami in S.S. Rajamouli’s blockbuster epic “Baahubali”.’. However, the ‘English Vinglish’ actress charged an exorbitant amount for the role which the makers couldn’t afford, thus making way for Ramya Krishnan.

While Ramya has remarkably portrayed Shivagami’s character in both . Sridevi has missed a great opportunity. Although she is an extremely popular actress, the role could have taken her career to a new level, given the scale of the multilingual franchise.

Now, two of the most infamous twiterratis –Ram Gopal Varma and Kamaal Rashid Khan aka KRK, have targeted Sridevi, which might make the actress regret more for not taking up the project.

RGV felt it was a big mistake on Sridevi’s part and wondered why she didn’t do such a huge project! “I really wonder why @SrideviBKapoor did not do Bahubali 2? What a super outstanding film it would have been for her illustrious career,” the ‘Sarkaar’ director tweeted.

He further wrote, “If @SrideviBKapoor did Bahubali 2 she would have gotten more credit than Prabhas it being her very next film after English Vinglish.”

KRK also took the opportunity to mock Sridevi as well as her upcoming film ‘Mom’. In response to RGV’s tweets, he wrote, “Sir @RGVzoomin @SrideviBKapoor was busy doing Maha flop film #MOM where she kills Gundas who rape her daughter, like Raveena did in Maatr.”

Also starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Sathyaraj and Tamannah Bhatia, “ Baahubali: The Conclusion” ’ has smashed records, both in domestic box-office and overseas. In just nine days of its release, the movie became the highest grossing Indian cinema by churning Rs 1000 crore worldwide.

Karan Johar, distributor of the Hindi version took to Twitter and wrote, “The biggest milestone has been reached by the biggest blockbuster of Indian cinema!!!! #1000croreBaahubali @ssrajamouli.”

The film’s lead actor Prabhas also thanked fans and audience by writing, “This day will be remembered in the India Cinema History. Thank you all for your great support… #1000croreBaahubali.”
