The Sexual Harassment Committee of the Punjab Police has summoned controversial Punjab Police officer Salwinder Singh to respond to allegations levelled against him by five women cops.
He has been asked to appear before IG Gurpreet Deo, who heads the committee. He was summoned after the alleged victims stood by their complaint. They deposed before the committee last month and submitted a signed statement reiterating their allegations.
Salwinder was also mired in a controversy over the January 1 Pathankot air base attack.
Five women cops posted at the Gurdaspur police headquarters have accused Salwinder of harassing them. He has denied the allegations.
Sources said a written copy of the statement of the alleged victims was given to the SP, asking him to respond to it.
