Neerja producer Atul Kasbekar has refuted claims by late air hostess Neerja Bhanot’s family that they never received the “promised 10% share in the profit” of the Sonam Kapoor starrer. “This is not true at all. I will give out an official statement on this. All I can say is that you will not find more straightforward people than us (makers),” Kasbekar has been quoted by a leading daily from Chandigarh.  According to reports, the family has appealed to the Punjab and Haryana High Court and a legal notice has already been sent to the makers.

SONAM MISTAKEN FOR DEEPIKA!

Remember the saree Sonam Kapoor wore on her first day in Cannes? A daily from Mumbai cited its source as saying, “It was Sonam’s beau Anand Ahuja who put Sonam and Rhea on to the designers — Mriga Kapadiya and Amrit Kumar.

Anand knew them as he’s in the garment business himself. He recommended them to the Kapoor sisters. Sonam likes to promote local Indian work so she decided to wear the Shimma Saree.”

Sonam Kapoor was recently mistaken for Deepika Padukone by a US stock photo agency. The agency posted a photo of Sonam and captioned it: “Indian actress Deepika Padukone arrives for the film The Meyerowitz Stories…[at] Cannes.”
