The release of Ram Gopal Varma’s directorial Sarkar 3 starring Amitabh Bachchan has been pushed forward yet again. The political thriller which was supposed to hit screens on April 7, will now release on May 12. The movie is reportedly facing some delay in post-production work.

The distribution partner of ‘Sarkar 3’, Eros Now, announced the news on its official Twitter handle. “We, at Eros along with @SrBachchan , @RGVzoomin and Wave took a mutual decision to postpone the release of Sarkar 3 to 12th May 2017!” the tweet read.

This is the third time that the film’s release date has been postponed. It was first slated to release on March 17. Later, it was shifted to April 7, which also happened to be director RGV’s birthday. Now, it will clash with Anurag Basu’s ‘Jagga Jasoos’ starring Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif, and also with Auyshmann Khurrana and Parineeti Chopra starrer ‘Meri Pyari Bindu’.

‘Sarkar 3’ is the third film in the ‘Sarkar’ franchise after the 2005 film ‘Sarkar’, followed by ‘Sarkar Raj’ in 2008. The third film in the series carries forward the story of Big B’s character Subhash Nagre after the death of both his sons Vishnu (Kay Kay Menon) and Shankar (Abhishek Bachchan).
