Sania Mirza who had a disappointing Australian Open by her own crackling standards, will try and affect the same in the WTA Premier 5 event.

“I was disappointed, no question,” Sania, who powered to victory in Sydney playing alongside American Bethanie Mattek-Sands, said of her Melbourne outing, “We (she and Hsieh) were playing really well, it was one bad match, it happens. The good thing in tennis is that you have to move on pretty quickly and I moved on literally an hour lat er to the mixed doubles, where Bruno Soares and I made the semis. It’s just that when you get these results in the Slams that you get really disappointed.”

Sania and Hsieh, who were given a first round bye in Dubai, will play the dangerous Russian pairing of Alla Kudryavtseva and Anastasia Yuchenkova in the second round. “When you are ranked No. 6, it’s so close to No.1 that you want to keep climbing till you get there. No.1 is a goal of mine and I would like to achieve that before I retire.”

Sania said she often reads about the missing piece of silverware in her collection – a Grand Slam in the women’s doubles.
