A PERSONAL MESSAGE FROM THE PREMIER

Namaste, Salaam and Sat Sri Akaal. On behalf of the Government of Ontario, I am delighted to extend warm wishes to our Indo Canadian community as you gather to mark India’s 70th Independence Day.

On this anniversary, you have much to celebrate. Today, India is a nation with a vibrant economy and a growing cultural influence. Last year, I visited India for the first time as Premier, and I felt the warm
partnership our two jurisdictions enjoy. My visit opened up even more opportunities for co-operation and collaboration. These opportunities are strengthened by the vast web of connections Indo-Canadians in
our province have with family, friends and business partners in India.

Our province is proud to be home to one of the largest and most dynamic Indo Canadian communities in the country. Your have made your mark in the business sector, in the arts, in the trades and professions, in public service, and in every aspect of our province’s life.

Thank you for all that you do at home to build our province up and make our communities stronger. I look forward to building on Ontario’s long-standing and fruitful partnership with India.

Best wishes for a meaningful and memorable celebration. Jai Hind!
