Pravasi Bharatiya Divas & Vishwa Hindi Divas celebrated at the Indian Consulate Toronto

The Consulate General of India, Toronto celebrated “Pravasi Bharatiya Divas” & “Vishwa Hindi Divas” (World Hindi Day) on January 10, 2018, at the Consulate. Both events were organized as part of efforts by the Consulate to strengthen the bonds with the Indian Diaspora and to further promote interest in the Hindi language especially among the children living in the Greater Toronto Area.
On this occasion, a lively programme was presented by the children who presented Hindi Bhajans.
About a dozen eminent Hindi lovers/writers residing in the GTA recited poems and songs.
In his address, Consul General, Dinesh Bhatia, acknowledged the support of the Indian community residing here in orgranising the Vishwa Hindi Diwas, also gave a brief details of the Pravasi Bhartiya Diwas and the Pravasi Bharatiya Parliamentarian/Mayor Conference held in Delhi. Information about the forthcoming International Hindi Literary Conference 2018, being organized by Vishva Hindi Sansthan Cultural Organization, in the month of April, 2018, in Toronto was also shared. All organizations promoting Hindi were requested to work together to make it a big success.
Event ended with distribution of Mementos to all participants by the Consul General.
