Police Seek the Public’s Assistance to Identify a Stabbing Suspect

Investigators from the 22 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a suspect and suspect vehicle after a stabbing incident that occurred in Brampton.

On Monday March 28, 2016, at approximately 5:15 p.m., the two victims, both 19 years of age and residents of Brampton, were walking south on the west sidewalk of Mavis Road, south of Steeles Avenue, in Brampton.  At this time the victims were confronted by an unknown male suspect, who slashed them with an edged weapon.  The victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to a local hospital, where they were treated and later released.  

Witnesses report the suspect fled southbound on Mavis Road in a dark four-door vehicle, described as similar to a Jeep Cherokee. 

The suspect is described as male, black, 5’10” tall, 30 to 35 years of age and with a medium build.  He was last seen wearing dark clothing and a possible dark toque. The suspect was armed with an unknown edged weapon. 

The suspect should be considered armed and dangerous, and should not be approached. If anyone comes into contact with the suspect, or knows his whereabouts, they should contact police immediately.

Investigators from the 22 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau would like to speak to any witnesses who were in the area of Mavis Road and Steeles Avenue, at the time of the incident – or any individual who may have information on this matter.
