Officers from the 22 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau are seeking the assistance of the public in their continuing efforts to locate a missing 69 year-old male from Brampton.
Shamsher VIRK is described as male, South Asian, with a medium build and a long white beard. He was last seen wearing a long white shirt, white pants, black turban and black dress shoes.
Mr. VIRK was last seen on Thursday, September 1, 2016, at approximately 6:00 p.m., as he left his residence for a walk. Shortly after, he was seen in the area of McLaughlin Road South and Steeles Avenue West.
With the assistance of community volunteers and officers from all areas of Peel Police, streets and greenbelt areas of both Brampton and Mississauga have been searched and neighbourhood canvasses have been conducted – without success.
Police are asking members of the public, who own a dash cam video recorder and were travelling on McLaughlin Road South, between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 1st, to review their video. If they see something on the video that they believe may assist police with their efforts to locate Mr. VIRK, they are asked to contact officers at (905) 453-3311, ext. 2233.
