The Indian Premier League (IPL) cheerleaders were left in a state of shock, when the Raipur police raided their hotel rooms, that too without any warrant.
In shock seeing police in their rooms, the cheer girls rang up the event management company that arranged their association with the IPL.
In fact, it was not just the cheerleaders, who faced the heat, as the raiding officials didn’t even spare the guests and media covering the IPL, who were staying in the hotel. Police knocked at their rooms to check for the cheerleaders.
“It’s ridiculous that we are being treated like this by the cops,” one of the cheer girls has been quoted by a leading daily from India.
“They could have contacted our event manager directly rather than rushing straight to our rooms. We all have work permits and we have been associated with Bollywood. We have never had such a bad experience in India,” she added.
Since the IPL spot-fixing controversy broke out, cheer girls stay in a different hotel and not the same where the team they represent is lodged.
