Investigators from the Peel Regional Police Special Victims Unit have charged a 28 year-old male for numerous sex related offences.
Earlier this year, Investigators were contacted by the victim, a 15 year-old female from the Region of Peel, to report multiple sex related criminal incidents that occurred over a 4 year period between the victim and her gymnastics coach.
On FridayJanuary 26, 2018, a Canada wide arrest warrant was issued for Scott MCFARLANE for : Sexual Assault; sexual interference; child luring –child luring under 16 years old; making sexual explicit material available to a person under 16 years of age and indecent xxposure to persons under 16 years of age
On Monday January 29, 2018, MCFARLANE turned himself in to Peel Regional Police and was charged with the above offences and scheduled to appear at the A. Grenville and William Davis Court House in Brampton.
Scott MCFARLANE was an active gymnastic coach in the Region of Peel and also coached in Oakville, Ottawa, and in Western Canada. MCFARLANEhas been suspended indefinitely by Gymnastics Ontario.
Investigators from the Special Victims Unit believe that there may be more victims and/or witnesses and are asking anyone who had contact with MCFARLANE to contact the Peel Regional Police Special Victims Unit.
