CBFC thinks that the word invokes a reference to the caste system
The Central Board of Film Certification of India seems to think Dalit is a banned word. They’ve asked the makers of upcoming movie Noor to remove all references to the community as it invokes a reference to the caste system. A source says, “The word Dalit has therefore been muted from Noor wherever it occurs.” References to a liquor brand have also been asked to be removed. More weirdly, a reference to a ‘sex toy’ has been found objectionable, too.

ARJUN, MALAIKA SPOTTED PARTYING
Actors Arjun Kapoor, 31, and Malaika Arora, 43, were spotted at a party during the weekend. Last year, Arjun was rumoured to be the cause of Malaika breaking up with Arbaaz Khan. She said that Arjun was a good friend.

ELLEN, WIFE LIVING SEPARATELY
TV host Ellen DeGenres’s wife Portia de Rossi has been slitting her wrists to cope with their marital problems, reported a celeb magazine. Last week, the couple was believed to be on the verge of divorce. The two are living separately in California. “Ellen can’t deal when Portia gets attached to anyone else, man or woman. When Ellen kisses up to her famous friends… Portia becomes consumed with self-doubt,” a source said.

ALI HANGS OUT WITH SUPERWOMAN IN LA
Actor Ali Fazal, who has been in Los Angeles for the last two weeks, met up with comedian and YouTube sensation, Lilly Singh, who’s also known as superwoman. The two met at the launch of Lilly’s book How To Be A Bawse and hit it off like a house on fire and took several selfies with each other.
“She’s one hell of a soul, is all that I can say,” says Fazal, adding, “We had a nice little chat, about her book and how lovely the event was. We also spoke of her popping over to Bollywood to have a little go at movies. My moment of truth was our selfie booth stint creating Gifs together,” says Ali, who has now flown to London where he would be wrapping up the final schedule of Victoria and Abdul before its release this September.
