“My dream is to see an Indian with a gold medal in athletics in the Olympics. The day this dream comes true, I will say yes to a filmmaker.”

Pilavullakandi Thekkeparambil Usha, or PT Usha, is a legend. And legends deserve a biopic. But Usha isn’t interested — as a coach, she is just as focussed on winning medals as she was in her track and field career.

On a visit to Delhi for an event, the 52-year-old Usha tells us, “Every day, I get four five calls from filmmakers across the world. They all want to make a movie on my life and journey, but every time, I say no.” Why so? “This is not the right time,” says Usha. “My dream is to see an Indian with a gold medal in athletics in the Olympics. The day this dream comes true, I will say yes to a filmmaker.” She is now coaching young athletes in her academy, preparing them for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

If a biopic were to be made, which actor could play PT Usha? Pat comes the reply from her husband, V. Srinivasan: “No one. At present, no one can portray her. She is one of the most hardworking and sincere sportspersons; if any random actor portrays her, the audience won’t like it.”

Kara is Miss USA

A 25-year-old scientist representing the District of Columbia was crowned winner of the Miss USA pageant  the second consecutive year that the contestant from the nation’s capital won the annual competition. Kara McCullough, who holds a degree in chemistry and works at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, triumphed over 50 other contestants, including first runner-up Chhavi Verg, representing New Jersey, to claim victory in the contest, which was held at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.

McCullough will go on to compete as the U.S. representative at the annual Miss Universe pageant.

Sara convinced stepmom to kiss on screen

Kareena Kapoor Khan broke her no-kissing clause in the film Ki and Ka (2016) alongside actor Arjun Kapoor. She revealed that it was her husband Saif Ali Khan’s daughter Sara Ali Khan -from Saif’s first marriage to Amrita Singh who convinced her to do so. “Sara said that this clause should no longer be there, as with today’s movies and characters, kissing is no different from any other scene,” Kareena told a daily from Mumbai.

IT’S JUST MALAIKA ARORA !

While Malaika Arora’s Instagram handle is ‘Malaika Arora Khan Official’, she seems to want to get rid of the Khan surname after her divorce from Arbaaz Khan. Recently, at an event in Vadodara, Malaika refused to take her seat until ‘Khan’ was removed from the name tag. She took her seat as just ‘Malaika Arora’.
