Speedster Ashish Nehra successfully underwent a right-knee surgery in a London hospital to treat his high-grade tendon injury sustained while playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad during the Indian Premier League earlier this month. The 37-year-old was India’s best bowler during the ICC World T20 where he got 5 wickets in 5 games at a miserly economy rate of 5.94 runs per over. He was named in `Team of the Tournament’. Nehra sustained the injury during the match against Kings XI Punjab on May 15, as he aborted his run-up and was seen in considerable pain. It is expected that Nehra, if he decides to continue playing, will take around six months for complete recovery as well as rehabilitation programme.
