Nehra appointed RCB coach for new season

Former left arm bowler of India Ashish Nehra, current the bowling coach of Royal Challengers Bangalore, has been confirmed as coach and will be part of the coaching leadership team along with Gary Kirsten. Ashish Nehra had joined RCB last season. “I had the privilege to join the coaching team of RCB last season and feel very passionately about the team. I want to thank the team management for considering me in a leadership position with the franchise and look forward for the successful seasons ahead,” he said. RCB Chairman Sanjeev Churiwala said Nehra and Kirsten will partner Kohli to help the team deliver a better performance.

Nigeria bans coach for accepting money

The Nigeria soccer federation has banned a senior coach of its national team for a year for accepting $1,000 from an undercover reporter who posed as an agent and wanted certain players selected in the squad. Salisu Yusuf, who has the title of Nigeria chief coach under technical director Gernot Rohr, was also ordered to pay a fine of $5,000.

Pekerman quits as Colombia manager

Jose Pekerman has quit as Colombia manager two months after leading them to the last 16 of the World Cup in Russia, the Colombian Football Federation (FCF) said.  Pekerman, who took over in 2012, was not expected to continue after a World Cup campaign that ended with a penalty shootout defeat to England. He ends with a record of 42 wins, 20 draws and 16 defeats in 78 matches.
