Salman Khan has said that his father, Salim Khan, wanted him to play cricket for the country. The actor revealed that former Indian cricketer Salim Durani was even hired as his coach. “My dad wanted me to play cricket. That could have happened easily, but I didn’t see myself going for cricket practice at 5.30 in the morning,” Salman told a celebrity magazine. The actor said he used to play cricket fairly well, but the day his father came to see him, he played badly intentionally. “Salim Durani was hired to be my coach. First day, he saw me play, I played very well. Second day, I did really well, so he called my father on the third day, and told him that your son has got a bright future. That day I realised that my father was coming to see me play, so I decided to play really badly,” said Salman.
