MISSISSAUGA – MPP Dipika Damerla was honoured along with 11 additional community members at the Dancing Damsels International Women’s Day Celebrations at the Meeting Place. Dancing Damsels Inc. is a dance promotions company run by women who are passionate about performing arts, women successes & achievements.

On Sunday March 8th, Dancing Damsels hosted a gala honoring International Women’s Day. The keynote speakers included Senator Dr. Artha Seth and Hon. Kevin Flynn, Minister of Labour who acknowledged the accomplishments of women across the world and encouraged effective action for advancing and recognizing women.

“It is a tremendous honour to receive this award. This award acknowledges the many accomplishments and successes of women around the world who have made significant strides in areas of politics, the arts, social work, medicine and journalism. It is a privilege to serve my constituents and the citizens of Ontario.”

MPP Damerla was first elected in Mississauga East-Cooksville in 2011 currently serves as Associate Minister of Health and Long-Term Care, responsible for Long-Term Care and Wellness.

“I am very proud to receive this award and I dedicate this award to both my mother and daughter,” said MPP Dipika Damerla. “This award signifies the sacrifices of past generations and the hopes for the future.”
