Michelle Obama’s ‘Becoming’ sells 10 million copies

Former US First Lady Michelle Obama’s memoir “Becoming” has sold over 10 million copies globally and is on track to becoming the most successful memoir in modern publishing history.

The memoir sold more than two million units in all formats and editions in the US and Canada during the first 15 days of its publication on November 13, 2018, the publisher Penguin Random House had said.

“The title was the book giant’s biggest success of last year,” said Thomas Rabe, chief executive of the German media group Bertelsmann, parent company of the publisher. “We believe that these memoirs could well become the most successful memoir ever,” he added.
