“On behalf of the City of Mississauga and Members of Council, we join with all residents to mark Victoria Day and the Victoria Day long weekend.

“Mississauga joins cities and towns across Canada to recognize Victoria Day, which celebrates the birth of Queen Victoria, Canada’s former long-reigning sovereign and head of state.

“This Victoria Day is all the more symbolic as it coincides with a historic milestone: the 150th anniversary of Confederation and our nation’s founding.

While Canada has grown to earn its own respected, sovereign place in the world, the relationship between Canada and the Crown continues to be one of respect, pride and genuine affection.

“Once again, I would like to wish all Mississaugans a very safe, happy and memorable Victoria Day long weekend.”
