Marathi Bhashik Mandal (MBM) Toronto is a charitable organization established in 1967 in Toronto, Canada. MBM Toronto was founded by Marathi-speaking immigrants from the state of Maharashtra, on the west coast of India. Large numbers of Maharashtrians have been migrating to Canada since late 1950s and early 1960s. Marathi people have a very rich culture, most well-known for prolific literary works of prose, poetry and theatre, but also classical music, classical dances and many colourful religious rituals and traditions. They have strived to pass these gems on to the second and the third generations of Maharashtrian Indo-Canadians, while happily integrating with the Canadian cultural mosaic. MBM Toronto will be celebrating its Golden Jubilee (50^th Anniversary) on October 7th and 8th, 2017 at the prestigious Living Arts Centre in Mississauga. The upcoming event will provide a glance into the Maharashtrian Indo-Canadian journey of the past 50 years, and include performances by both local talent and invited artists from Maharashtra, India.

We are a very fortunate community, having been able to sustain ourselves and our culture in Ontario, as well as contributing to the economy and culture of Canada. We have inculcated in our young generations the core values of our culture, and a desire for continued active participation within the Canadian diverse cultural landscape. We look forward to carry forward the rich cultural heritage from Maharashtra in our beautiful, diverse Canada.
