Man Arrested for Attempt Murder and Firearms Offences

Investigators from the 21 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau were seeking assistance from the public in locating a suspect that is wanted for attempted murder and several firearms related offences.
On Monday, February 25, 2019, the victim and the suspect, who are known to each other, were outside of a residence on Yorkland Boulevard in the City of Brampton during the early afternoon. After some discussion, the suspect retrieved a firearm and shot the victim causing her to suffer non-life-threatening injuries. The victim was subsequently transported to a trauma centre for treatment.
As a result of this investigation, Devon Ruddock-Brooks, a 20-year-old man from Brampton was identified as being responsible for this incident and a warrant for his arrest was issued.
On Sunday, March 3, 2019, Devon Ruddock-Brooks surrendered to Peel Regional Police.
