Investigators from the Major Collision Bureau have arrested a male involved in a pedestrian fatality involving a dump truck in the City of Mississauga.

On Tuesday October 17, 2017, at approximately 11:00 a.m., a pedestrian was struck by a dump truck at Dixie Road and Rathburn Road in Mississauga. The dump truck continued to travel northbound along Dixie Road after the collision failing to stop at the scene of the collision.

The pedestrian, Clayton BARNARD, a 36 year-old male from Mississauga succumbed to his injures at the scene.

The dump truck involved in the collision was located shortly after and processed for examination.   

On Tuesday January 9, 2018, Roshan NAVACODI, a 38 year-old male from Toronto was arrested and charged with Fail to Remain and Cause Death under the Criminal Code of Canada and Careless Driving under the Highway Traffic Act. NAVACODI was release on a Promise to Appear with a court date of Monday February 12, 2018 at the A. Grenville and William Davis Court in the City of Brampton.
