Investigators from the Peel Regional Police 21 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau have arrested and charged a male in relation to two street robberies in the City of Brampton.
On Wednesday December 6, 2017 at approximately 11:39 p.m. a male approached a 36 year-old female victim in the area of Sunny Meadow Boulevard and Sandalwood Parkway in Brampton. The male placed the victim in a bear hug and fled the area with her purse.
On Thursday January 4, 2018 at approximately 10:25 p.m. a male approached a 44 year-old female victim in the area of Bramalea Road and Sandalwood Parkway in Brampton. The male placed the victim in a bear hug, forcefully took her purse and fled the area.
As a result of the investigation, Shemar THOMPSON, a 21 year-old male of Brampton, was arrested and charged with two counts of Robbery with a future court date in February.
