Male Arrested for Assault on Aircraft

Officers from the Peel Regional Police Airport Division have arrested and charged a male for an assault on an aircraft that occurred earlier today in the City of Mississauga.

On Friday, August 4, 2017, WestJet flight #709 took off from Pearson International Airport. Shortly after takeoff the plane was diverted back to the airport due to mechanical reasons. During the return to the airport a passenger became unruly on the flight and assaulted a flight attendant as well as caused minor internal damage to the plane. The damage was within the bathroom of the plane.

Upon the arrival of the aircraft, Randy PAHOLKO, a 68 year-old male from Vancouver, British Columbia was arrested. PAHOLKO has been charged with Assault, Endangering Aircraft and 2 counts of Mischief.
