After unveiling the royal Rajput princess look of Deepika Padukone, now Kangana Ranaut’s warrior princess look was revealed. With decorated turban on head and sword hanging, the ‘Queen’ actress looks every inch a warrior.
For the first time in her career, Kangana Ranaut will be seen in a mythological character. Talking about her character and how she recently got hurt on the sets during a sword-fighting scene, Kangana had told media in India, “But when you talk about Laxmibai, she was the general of an army. She was an extraordinary woman. How many battles she fought in the prime of her youth! She was like a ‘killing machine’. So it would be a shame to try to get into character superficially through clothes, make-up, hair styles and jewellery. And if you give blood to play such a woman, it’s worth it. To be honest, I’m only happy. You can’t hope to immortalise the greatest warrior of all times without having a battle scar on your face. So it’s justified.”
The picture was clicked on the location. Thousands of people accumulated at the shooting spot.

Banned for life

Harvey Weinstein, who has been accused by many women of sexual misconduct, has been banned for life from the Producers Guild of America.
Earlier this month, the guild voted to begin termination proceedings, but gave Weinstein time to respond to the allegations made against him. According to its rules, it is required that a member be given 15 days notice before disciplinary action is taken. But the PGA received notice that rather than face the guild’s charges, Weinstein elected to resign his membership. In a statement issued by the Guild, the organisation announced that it is banning Weinstein for life from being a member of the organization.
The statement read, “In light of Mr. Weinstein’s widely reported behaviour, with new reports continuing to surface even now, the Producers Guild’s National Board has voted unanimously to enact a lifetime ban on Mr. Weinstein, permanently barring him from PGA membership. This unprecedented step is a reflection of the seriousness with which the Guild regards the numerous reports of Mr. Weinstein’s decades of reprehensible conduct.” In the last several weeks, as many as 100 women have leveled charges of sexual misconduct against Weinstein.

Not just an Ittefaq
Sonakshi Sinha said her actor-politician father Shatrughan Sinha was first offered 1969 film Ittefaq but Rajesh Khanna eventually played the lead role in the Yash Chopra-directed movie.
Sonakshi said working on the remake was a good opportunity for her as the role helped her ditch the quintessential good girl image that she has in Hindi films.
“My dad was supposed to do the original Ittefaq and I am there in the remake version, so it’s a big thing for me. I think life has come full circle to me,” Sonakshi told media in India. “I am upset that I have been the quintessential good girl of Hindi cinema. There are two sides to me and that is what attracted me to do the film,” she added.
The movie Ittefaq hits theaters this Friday directed by Abhay Chopra and produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, Dharma Productions and BR Studios. Besides Sonakshi, the remake features Sidharth Malhotra and Akshaye Khanna. It is set for November 3 release.
