On November 17, at the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting, the City of Brampton announced The Sheepdogs will be the headliner for this year’s New Year’s Eve Celebration in downtown Brampton. Special guests, Delhi 2 Dublin will be the opening act.

Save the date – Sunday, December 31, from 5:30 pm to 12:30 am, as the New Year’s Eve Celebration is an exciting annual event for the whole family.

The City of Brampton is excited to share this incredible roster of musical talent for this year’s FREE New Year’s Eve concert in Garden Square. Come to downtown Brampton to ring in 2018 with this all-Canadian concert line-up!

The program includes musical performances by a number of Brampton locals including Guinness World Record holder for World’s Youngest DJ, Brandan Duke the DJ, indie rock band The Downturns and Canadian rapper, Pryde.

The fun goes beyond Garden Square! This year, there will be a children’s dance party in the City Hall Atrium, craft station in the Conservatory and skating at Gage Park’s open air rink. Warm up at a fire pit while roasting marshmallows. The gazebo in the park is where we’ll be rocking out from 5:30 pm with music and an emcee to get the party started.

Fireworks will light the sky over the Rose Theatre at both 9 pm and midnight. The 9 pm fireworks show has been specially planned for families with young children as an opportunity to be part of the celebration.

About The Sheepdogs
Proud purveyors of guitar-driven modern-day retro rock, the triple Juno Award-winning Saskatoon-based quintet has expanded its sound on Changing Colours to encompass more styles and hues to enhance the Sheepdogs’ trademark beef-and-boogie twin-axe riffs, hooks, shuffles and long-haired aesthetic.

With the new album expected February, The Sheepdogs haven’t only stretched their sonic palate, they’ve also expanded stylistically, tastefully embracing other genres as well.

Delhi 2 Dublin is a live-electronic, bhangra, hip-hop, world-pop, hybrid act whose concerts have been likened to “90 minutes of freebasing joy”. Famous for their energy onstage, the five-member crew has played over 100 shows a year for the last decade.

Connecting roots to future, the new album, We’re All Desi, sees the notorious genre smashers continue to evolve into fresh sonic territory and features a heavy electronic backbone with live traditional Indian instruments (dhol, tabla), fiddle, electric guitar, and the stunning Punjabi-English vocals of front man Sanjay Seran.
