After the Bombay High Court’s order  to remove four scenes from Jolly LLB 2, a Jaipur court has also summoned actors Akshay Kumar and Anu Kapoor and director Subhash Kapoor  for negative portrayal of lawyers in the movie.

The court issued summons to the trio to appear before the court on March 10, following a complaint filed by a lawyer, Tikam Chand Sharma.

The complainant felt that several dialogues of the film were offensive, hence the criminal complaint was submitted to the court, said Mahaveer Surendra Jain, counsel for the complainant.

The order also said it was the responsibility of the Mumbai police commissioner to ensure their presence in the court.

Earlier, advocate Ajaykumar Waghmare filed a petition in the Bombay that ‘Jolly LLB 2’ portrays the judicial system and legal profession in a bad light, after which it formed a panel to review the film. The film’s production company Fox Star Studio then moved the Supreme Court against the HC order, which asked it to approach the HC against its earlier order.

The HC-appointed review committee found certain scenes and dialogues in the movie defaming the legal profession, and ordered the makers four cuts in the courtroom drama.

The Central Board of Film Certification had already passed ‘Jolly LLB 2’ with a U/A certificate, but will now have to reissue the certificate in light of the court’s order.

‘Jolly LLB 2’ is set to hit screens on February 10.
