Isha Koppikar joins BJP

Ahead of 2019 Lok Sabha poll, Bollywood actress Isha Koppikar

Bharatija Janata Party. In the presence of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, she was appointed as the working president of the BJP’s women transport wing.  In a speech, the actress thanked the party for the “warm welcome” and said she looks forward to “serve the nation”. 

“I will try my best to fulfill all the responsibilities the party gives me. I will also make sure that I can do all that is in my capacity to serve the country,” she said at a Mumbai event.

Ms Koppikar made her Bollywood debut in 2000 in Hrithik Roshan-starrer ‘Fiza’ and starred in the popular song ‘Khallas’ in Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Company’ got her noticed. She had begun her film career in 1998 with a Tamil Movie. She has also appeared in Telegu, Marathi and Kannada movies. Isha Koppikar married hotelier Timmy Narang on 29th November, 2009 and together they have a daughter.

Earlier this month, Moushumi Chatterjee joined BJP. In 2004, she had contested the national election as a Congress candidate in Bengal.
