Kejriwal has Less money, more lawsuits
Kiran Bedi stokes new controversy with BJP scarf
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi stoked a controversy by putting her party’s scarf around the statue of freedom fighter Lala Lajpat Rai in Krishna Nagar before filing her nomination, which drew sharp criticism from Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener Arvind Kejriwal.
However, she removed it from the statue a few minutes later.
Reacting to the incident, Arvind Kejriwal said that she should not “saffronize” the freedom fighters. “At least spare the freedom fighters. At least do not saffronize them free fighters. A freedom fighter does not belong to any party, he belongs to the country. We should not divide him into BJP or Congress or this and that party,” Kejriwal told reporters.

Bedi will contest assembly elections from Krishna Nagar constituency, which is a BJP’s stronghold.Delhi will go to Assembly poll on February 7 while counting of voters will be held on February 10.
Slamming Kejriwal for his attack on her for putting the BJP scarf around the statue of Lala Lajpat Rai, Bedi wondered whether the AAP convener had “never been to a temple”. “Has he never garlanded an idol with a ‘chunni’ and taken it back? “When you go to a temple and garland an idol, does the priest not give it back to you? Is it not my duty to take this blessing from out martyrs who have given us freedom?,” Bedi said.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Sambit Patra said the upcoming Delhi Assembly polls is a battle between the “Iron Lady” (Kiran Bedi) and an “I-Run Man” (Arvind Kejriwal).”AAP stands for the 3Ds: Dharnas, Drama and Debate. We stand for Democracy, Delivery and Decision. This debate is nothing but a gimmick for cheap publicity. It is nothing but a gimmick to gain cheap publicity. This is a battle between an “Iron Lady” and an “I-Run Man”,” said Patra

AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal and his wife own assets worth about Rs 2.09 crore, Rs five lakh less since he declared his wealth during last year’s Lok Sabha election while legal cases against him have gone up in the same period.
According to details provided by Kejriwal in the latest affidavit to the Election Commission, the former Chief Minister declared movable assets at Rs 2.26 lakh while his wife has a total of Rs 15.28 lakh including 300 gm of gold worth Rs 9 lakh and 24 gm silver worth Rs 24,000.During Lok Sabha elections, Kejriwal had declared movable assets worth Rs 4.25 lakh owned by him and Rs 17.41 lakh of his wife Sunita. Their immovable assets, which include three flats, have not changed whereas movable assets in cash have gone down by about Rs 5 lakh. The combined assets of the former Delhi chief minister and his wife amount to about Rs 2.09 crore.
Whereas their combined assets stood at Rs 2.14 crore during last year’s Lok Sabha elections when he contested from Varanasi against Narendra Modi. He also mentioned that 10 cases are pending against him in different courts compared to seven cases mentioned by him in the last affidavit.
