WEConnect Community Services in collaboration with AIMS hosts yet another successful event. This time, it is the third, annual India Independence Day celebrations at Vaughan City Hall. It was wonderful to see how WEConnect Community Services is bringing the diverse communities especially south Asians together in so many exciting ways. Their vision of connecting communities and empowering people through their programs and dedicated services is simply amazing. The beautiful program was conducted by Rahul Pandey & Sejal Gajjar.

On August 12, 2017, at Vaughan City Hall, the Indian National Flag was unfurled by Honorable Mayor Mourizio Bavilacqua, Mr. Devinder Pal Singh representing Indian Consulate, Minister Steven Del Duca (MPP), MP Deb Schulte, Area Councillor Marylin Iafrate, Councillor Gino Rosati, Regional Councillor Sunder Singh with team WEConnect Community Services. Honorable Mayor addressed the crowd present highlighting the contribution Indo Canadians have made in Ontario.

The atmosphere echoed with patriotic songs by Munni & Afzal Subhani, breathtaking classical dance by Prakriti Das and tiranga colours were seen everywhere be it in the form of sashes adorned by dignitaries or flags in the hands of community members or sweets (Burfi and Cake) on the food Table. A parade was also organised on this occasion in which participants from different organizations took part. On behalf of WEConnect Community Services, Jayashree thanked all for their continued support in making this third annual flag hoisting celebration a success.
