Multicultural events in Canada may now receive as much as $25,000 through Inter-Action, Jason Kenney, Minister for Multiculturalism announced today.

Events that meet Inter-Action program criteria will see the maximum possible amount of funding available for each eligible event increase from $15,000 to $25,000. This increased flexibility will allow applicants to expand their audience and reach so that their events are more impactful.

Quick facts

• Inter-Action assists in the integration of individuals and communities.
• The Inter-Action program has two streams: events and projects. The events stream accepts applications year-round.
• Funding through Inter-Action can support events whose total budgets do not exceed $100,000.

Quote

“By increasing the flexibility of the Inter-Action Events stream, community organizations will be able to organize more impactful events, which celebrate our pluralism, contribute to the integration of new Canadians, and strengthen civic literacy.”

Jason Kenney, Minister for Multiculturalism
