Fresh legal trouble for Rakhi Sawant

Failing to appear in the court in Punjab this week in the communal sentiments hurting case, Ludhiana court issued fresh warrant against Ralkhi Sawant.The court also rejected the anticipatory bail of the item girl.

Months back, the court directed Rakhi to appear before it on August 7  but she did not turn up.  The actor’s lawyer have moved the court seeking extension of the anticipatory bail citing reason that Rakhi could not appear in the court because she was in the USA.

Last month, the trial court had cancelled the bail granted to Rakhi, who is facing a case related to objectionable remarks against sage Valmiki.

Rakhi was booked for hurting the religious sentiments of the Valmiki community with her comments against Valmiki, who wrote the mythological Hindu epic ‘Ramayana’, during a television programme last year.

In March, a team of Punjab Police had even gone to Mumbai to arrest her, but had to return empty-handed as Rakhi was not found at her given address.

In July, Rakhi Sawant appeared before a Ludhiana court wearing a burqa in order to avoid being detected. The court has granted her bail in the matter.

Rakhi had surrendered before the court a day ahead of the hearing. The court had earlier repeatedly summoned her, and after the Bollywood item queen failed to show up, court issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against her.
