The 12th annual Awards Nite of Fernando’s Youth Badminton Academy was held recently in Brampton. Coach Fernando the founder & head coach of the academy said the academy identified that ‘award ceremonies’ are a way of recognizing the students for their hard work during the year and also want to reward them for their accomplishments. A large gathering was present for the occasion which included students of the academy, parents and well wishes.
The Chief Guest for the event was Raman Dua broker of Record/CEO of Save Max Real Estate Inc one the leading real estate organizations in the Peel region. Raman Dua delivered one of the best speeches which was appropriate for the students of the badminton academy. He said the best way for the young to get involved is sports. He said sports will help a healthier lifestyle and also will teach qualities such as sportsmanship, accepting defeat, taking responsibility and also taking leadership roles in society in addition to learning the skills of the sport badminton. Raman Dua also became a Gold sponsor for the academy and he showed his generosity by informing the students that if any student has a difficulty in paying the fees for the sports program he is willing to pay the fees.
The ‘Player of the year’ trophy was awarded to Hargun Grewal who has been with the academy for more than 5 years and proved to be one of the most outstanding students. There were close to 10 high end badminton rackets given as prizes for the students for various accomplishments. All students received certificates of completion.
