BRAMPTON, ON: Celebrate the rich cultural texture of Brampton with a weekend of free community
events at Culture Days from September 29 to October 1.
Culture Days is a celebration of Canadian culture, which welcomes residents and visitors to participate
in free activities at several venues throughout Brampton. Now in its eighth year, Culture Days is the
nation’s largest public participation campaign undertaken by the artistic community. It offers hands-on
workshops, performances and interactive activities to discover the world of arts, culture and heritage.
“This is a wonderful time for our arts and culture community, and a great opportunity for the public to
explore the immense creative talent in our city. Such engaging cultural activities help showcase
Brampton’s vibrancy for all to enjoy. I invite everyone to come out and participate in the many free
activities we have to offer,” said Mayor Linda Jeffrey.
More than 60 free activities are scheduled to take place for Culture Days in Brampton, including the
following events:

 Launch Event
Celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Churchville Community with a Public Art Ribbon-Cutting
Party.
Opening of “The River That Drew Me Here” sculpture and Art in the Park activities.

 Create and Celebrate
Interactive dance, music, art, fashion, theatre, film, literary and meditation activities for all ages.

As part of the Culture Days weekend, Brampton invites the public to explore 13 of its most
intriguing and charming sites, free of charge. This event offers the community the opportunity to
embrace diversity through the historical and modern architecture of the city’s properties of
interest.
