“On behalf of the City of Mississauga and Members of Council, we join families, neighbours and all residents to mark the celebrated occasion of Easter.

“For Christians throughout Mississauga, and in cities around the world, the Easter season is a most solemn period of observance as Easter marks the resurrection of Jesus Christ, following his crucifixion on Good Friday.

“During Easter, residents will attend local church services, listen to scripture, reflect on sermons and participate in the singing of hymns.

“For all those observing Easter, may this be a period of thoughtful, enriching and renewed appreciation of faith, and how faith can be a force for good to help provide for those in need.

“As we celebrate the 150th anniversary of Confederation and our nation’s founding, let us all remember how cities and towns across Canada have been enriched by faith communities and spiritual leaders, undertaking important social justice work each day to elevate the quality of all citizens.

“My best wishes to all Mississauga families as they gather this Easter to make new and lasting memories together.”
