Apologies publicly, wife tells Shami

Police have increased security outside the house of Hasin Jahan, the wife of Mohammad Shami, following fresh allegations by her that the India pacer was involved in a relationship with a Pakistani woman since 2017. Hasin had alleged that her husband was threatening her and asking her to withdraw the case against him. Meanwhile, a new conversation between Shami and Hasin has emerged in which the couple is heard arguing. Shami is heard requesting Hasin to meet and settle the spat. He is also heard asking Hasin about the future of their family. Hasin, though, is heard telling Shami to accept the charges against him, seek forgiveness through a press conference and provide in writing that he will not get involved in any extramarital affair.

The  Committee of Administrators (CoA) chairman Vinod Rai has instructed BCCI’s Anti-Corruption Unit’s chief Neeraj Kumar to probe the corruption allegations laid against cricketer Mohammad Shami by his wife Hasin Jahan.

Rai has written to Kumar over the allegations against Shami and asked Kumar to submit a report within a week.

Rai asserted in the letter that the investigation would be limited to the corruption issues only and not deal with any other allegations against Shami unless they fell within the purview of Anti-Corruption Code.
