West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has termed the Congress-Left alliance for upcoming Assembly polls as a nexus.. The Trinamool Congress chief said she was not afraid of the Congress-Left coalition.

Launching a scathing attack on both the parties, the TMC leader said, “I had talked about friendship of Communist Party of India (Marxist) and Congress in 1998. We used to call them B-team and now the secret is out in the open.”

Further hitting out the two opposition parties, Banerjee said, “CPI(M) has forgotten Lenin, Stain, Ho Chi Minh and the Congress has forgotten how CPI(M) called former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi a thief.”

The Trinamool chief also hit out the Bharatiya Janata Party, saying CPI(M), Congress and BJP have an understanding, they are afraid of us. Listing out her government’s initiatives, the Bengal CM said, “33 lakh girls have received scholarships under Kanyashree scheme and 40 lakh students are getting Sabuj Sathi cycles,”

“We have set up 108 fair price medicine shops and 80 fair price diagnostic centres,” the TMC supremo maintained. “I believe in politics of culture and courtesies. I will counter politically but never indulge in personal attacks,” Banerjee asserted. West Bengal will see balloting on seven dates: April 4, 11, 17, 21, 25 and 30 and May 5.

Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s grand nephew Chandra Bose will try his luck against Mamata Banerjee in the upcoming high-voltage elections.
