Carmelo Anthony has has decided to have surgery on his left knee, effectively ending his season with the New York Knicks.Anthony will have a knee debridement to remove the dead, damaged or infected tissue that has caused the pain.
The Knicks (10-43) are 0-13 without Anthony this season. Anthony, 30, has averaged 24.2 points, 6.6 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 40 games for the fading Knicks.
“It’s pretty crucial what I’m dealing with,” Anthony has been quoted by a sports magazine from US.”I just want to get it over with, get to the bottom of it. I haven’t made that decision yet. I don’t want this lingering where I’ll be out the whole offseason and then it affects me coming back for next season training camp. Ultimately it’s about me being smart,” he added.
