Brampton has received over $2.5 million from the Community Infrastructure Program (CIP). The Community Infrastructure Program (CIP) has helped improve cultural and community locations across the country such as parks, trails, as well as cultural and community centres which bring together Canadian families to enjoy moments of sport, recreation and leisure. Of the total $300 Million under CIP, close to $90 Million was allocated for southern Ontario. Projects were then selected based on project readiness, scope, extent to which other funding was leveraged for the project, and the extent to which the project supported a clean growth economy. Of the total funding, $100,000 was invested in the riding of Brampton West to help residents stay active and spend quality time with their families in the great outdoors. This includes the new fitness trail at Creditview and Sandalwood Park, and rehabilitation of the playground at Koretz Park. Ms. Kamal Khera, Member of Parliament for Brampton West believes Brampton families will be able to benefit from these improvements to public infrastructure, which will help foster a better sense of community in Brampton.

Quote
“The CIP was a nation-building project and there’s perhaps no better way to do that than to celebrate places within our communities that bring us together. Here in Brampton, we look to such places to not only bring us together, but also to keep us healthy and active. These parks, community and cultural centres serve as a meeting ground for seniors, a place for kids to play, and for families to spend time together. The new investments will help ensure that our families have safer places for their children to play and I’m so proud that our Government has chosen to invest in our parks in Brampton since the great outdoors are an integral part of Brampton’s identity. We have received $100,000 in Brampton West for the improvement of our playgrounds, parks and fitness trails, including at the new Creditview and Sandalwood Park. I urge residents to take some time during this beautiful weather to pay a visit to the newest park in Brampton.”
