Actresses Genelia Deshmukh and Shraddha Kapoor looked exquisite in delicately embroidered anarkalis. Dia Mirza managed to out-bling everyone else in a heavily embellished Anita Dongre anarkali.

After a fairly private sangeet function and marriage ceremony in Delhi last week, newly-weds Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput hosted a reception in Mumbai on July 12. The party was attended by the who’s who of Bollywood. While Shahid and Mira reached the venue — a hotel in Lower Parel — well in advance, Neelima Azeem (Shahid’s mother) and her son, Ishaan Khattar, were among the first family members to arrive. They were seen welcoming guests at the venue’s entrance. Later, Pankaj Kapur (Shahid’s father) and his wife, Supriya Pathak, took over the responsibility.

Among the guests, Amitabh Bachchan arrived early, but didn’t stay for very long. On the other hand, Alia Bhatt, who will share screen space with Shahid in her next two films, entered with filmmaker Vikas Bahl. Some of the other celebrities who attended the reception included Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, Kangana Ranaut and Preity Zinta. Ranveer, who arrived late, happily posed for selfies with fans before he entered the reception lounge. As per media reports from India, the reception was a vegetarian affair, just like the wedding.

Shahid wore a black tuxedo designed by his friend and designer, Kunal Rawal. Mira opted for a blue and white Manish Malhotra creation. At around 11.30pm, the couple stepped out of the venue, hand-inhand, to pose for the photographers.
