Bollywood bids adieu to Roger Moore

Celebrities from the world of Bollywood today bade adieu to the iconic James Bond actor Roger Moore.Taking to twitter, Bollywood actor and Roger Moore’s co-star in the James Bond film ‘Octopussy’, Kabir Bedi said,”Farewell Roger! What a wonderful life you had! Honoured to have fought your #JamesBond in “OCTOPUSSY”. Many memories. RIP .”

British actor Roger Moore, best known for his role as James Bond in films such as Live and Let Die and The Spy Who Loved Me, passed away  in Switzerland after a brief battle with cancer. He was 89. “With the heaviest of hearts, we must share the awful news that our father, Sir Roger Moore, passed away today. We are all devastated,” his family said in a statement posted on Moore’s official Twitter account.  “The love with which he was surrounded in his final days was so great it cannot be quantified in words alone.” Moore was the only actor who portrayed the popular fictional spy in seven movies between 1973 and 1985. Born in Stockwell, south London, Moore studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA). He became a contender for the role of 007 after Scottish actor Connery announced in 1966 that he would no longer be appearing as Bond. Besides his outings as Bond, Moore had an extensive and productive career as an actor in cinema and television.

His other prominent performance were in films such as “Bullseye!”, “Bed & Breakfast”, “Curse of the Pink Panther” and “The Quest”.

Actor Randeep Hooda and Rishi Kapoor and music director Shekhar Ravjiani also bade farewell to the iconic Hollywood actor.”You made #JamesBond so much more fun .. #RogerMoore #RIP,”Randeep Hooda tweeted.”RIP. Name is James….Roger Moore ….Bond,”veteran actor Rishi Kapoor said.Condoling the death of the actor , Music director Shekhar Ravjiani said,”Sir Roger Moore passed away today .. My father fondly remembers the time he spent with him when he was shooting in India for Octopussy.”

Bollywood actors Rishi Kapoor and Boman Irani also mourned Moore’s demise.

“RIP. Name is James… Roger Moore… Bond,” Kapoor wrote alongside Moore’s picture.

Irani shared, “A sad day became sadder. #JamesBond cannot bleed let alone die. You will remain in our hearts forever. Sir #RogerMoore.”
