Bhajji, Yuvi linked to Ponzi scam?

The CBI is preparing a list of imminent personalities, including cricketers and film stars, who were given gifts by the Pearls Group, claimed a leading television channel. According to the report, Harbhajan Singh and Yuvraj Singh received gifts in the form of plots. Some film stars profited through the scheme as well.

Former Australian speedster Brett Lee was the group’s brand ambassador. The plots given to Yuvraj and Harbhajan are likely to be seized by the investigative agencies. The group had interest in cricket and was the leading sponsor of a top IPL team. It also invested in Super Fight League, Kabbadi and the Golf Premier League.

The CBI arrested Pearls Group CMD Nirmal Singh Bhangoo and three others in connection with alleged swindling of Rs 45,000 crore.
