B’desh sentences six to death for 1971 war crimes

A special Bangladesh tribunal passed the death sentence on six Islamists for committing crimes against humanity and siding with Pakistani troops during the country’s 1971 war of liberation. A three-judge panel handed down the capital punishment to six members of the Jamaat-e-Islami, saying the charges against them were “proved beyond doubt”.
