Basmati Blues makers apologies for “Generalizing India’s Culture”

Makers of the Hollywood film Basmati Blues, starring actor Brie Larson, have apologized after its trailer was thrashed on social media for “generalizing India’s culture”. Brie’s character of an American scientist is shown meeting stray goats, eating spicy food, and getting her feet washed in brass plates in India. “Unfortunately, the trailer has given the wrong impression of the film’s message and heart. We deeply regret any offense caused,” reads the statement by filmmakers.

Shraddha Kapoor does her bit for Children’s day

Shraddha Kapoor was at the closing ceremony of the the International Children’s Film Festival which was organised by Information and Broadcasting Ministry of India in Hyderabad, Telangana. The I&B ministry and the Children Film Festival of India were very keen to have her on board.

She actively participates in charities that work towards the development of children. This year with International Children’s Film Festival, she has found a new way to contribute for the betterment of children.

Akshay Kumar to replace Salman Khan?

The much awaited sequel of Anees Bazmee’s 2005 comedy, No Entry, has been in the offing for almost a decade now. Intermittently, there is talk about its script being written and casting is underway.
The latest buzz suggests that Akshay Kumar is likely to replace Salman Khan in the sequel, which will now have a fresh cast. The original featured Fardeen Khan, Bipasha Basu, Lara Dutta, Esha Deol and Celina Jaitly.
Beside No Entry, Salman Khan has worked with Anees Bazmee in Ready in 2011. On the other side, Akshay has done three films with Bazmee which includes Welcome (2007) Singh is Kinng (2008), and Thank You (2011). Considering that the Akshay Kumar has been doing slice-of-life films, No Entry sequel might be a welcome move.

SRK to open IFFI

One of India’s biggest film festivals, the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), is set to start soon, and as per reports superstar Shah Rukh Khan will be inaugurating the festival this year. The actor will be making the official welcome address at the event, which will be held in Goa. Shah Rukh recently lauded Information and Broadcasting Minister Smriti Irani’s efforts towards the festival, which is scheduled to be held from November 20 to 28. He also extended his support to the festival, tweeting, “Great endeavour by I&B Minister Smriti Irani to make IFFI the most inclusive, relevant forum for Indian cinema. My unwavering support to you,” on his Twitter account. Shah Rukh said“It’s an exciting time for world cinema, especially Indian cinema. It’s wonderful that our country has opened its doors, with the International Film Festival of India providing a platform to showcase some of the finest films from across the world. As IFFI gets into its 48th year, I look forward to inaugurating the festival and celebrating what I regard in many ways as the future of cinema. I would also like to extend a warm welcome to all the delegates to India with open arms, as only us Indians can.”

Esha Gupta hospitalized

Esha Gupta, who keeps treating fans with her hot pictures, surprised everyone with her latest post. The actress has landed herself in hospital.
