AVENGERS: ENDGAME HITS THE $1 BILLION MARK

Endgame, the final chapter in the Avengers franchise, has broken records globally by raking in $1.2 billion (₹8,382 crore), with $26.7 million of its earnings coming in from India, in its first weekend. Directors Joe and Anthony Russo shot the latest Avengers film back-to-back with last year’s Avengers: Infinity War, the previous record-holder for the biggest global opening ($640.5 million). Infinity War took five days to hit the $1 billion mark. In India, the film has breached the ₹100-crore mark in just two days, beating Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, which did it in three days.

PINK SUFFERED MISCARRIAGE AT 17

Pop star Pink has revealed that she suffered a miscarriage at the age of 17. The singer said the painful experience that left her “broken” inspired a song in the soundtrack of her new album. “I’ve always had this very tomboy, gymnast body, but at 17 I had a miscarriage. And I was going to have that child. When that happens to a young girl, you feel like your body hates you,” Pink shared with a leading TV channel in USA.

Shaheen was once body-shamed by a photographer

Alia Bhatt’s elder sister Shaheen Bhatt recently opened up about her struggle with depression, her suicidal thoughts and body shaming. Speaking about a particular incident, Shaheen said: “It is making me uncomfortable right now.” Shaheen was talking in context of an excerpt in her book, where she had described when a photographer asked her to leave a picture with Alia and Pooja Bhatt as the other two were fair, cute and looked similar, while she was “dark” and a little “overweight”.
