Investigators from the Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau have arrested two males involved in the Region’s 6^th homicide of 2016 which claimed the life of a 24 year-old male.

On Friday May 13, 2016, at approximately 9:00 p.m., Peel Regional Police responded to a call in the area of Lisa Street and Dixie Road in the City of Brampton for reports of a shooting in the parking lot of a strip plaza. Officers arrived on scene and located the male with obvious signs of trauma. He was rushed to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The victim was identified as 24 year-old Kadeem BASCOMBE of Mississauga.

On Friday October 20, 2017 investigators arrested and charged Ronald Junior THOMAS, 36 year-old male from Brampton for numerous Firearms and Drug related offences. Additionally on Thursday October 26, 2017 THOMAS was charged with First Degree Murder and appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on Friday October 27, 2017 for a remand hearing.

During the investigation Peel Regional Police Homicide and Missing Persons investigators conducted multiple search warrants at various locations and as a result three handguns, two rifles and a shotgun were seized. A large quantity of Cocaine, Crack Cocaine, and Marijuana was also seized during the search warrants.

The following parties were charged with numerous firearms and drug related offences pertaining to an incident following the Homicide that are currently before the courts:

Tracey FARNHAM, a 59 year-old female of Brampton

Ryan NEWHOOK, 27 year-old male of no fixed address

Stephen BROWN, 31 year-old male from Toronto
