Arrest Made in Public Mischief Investigation

Investigators from the 22 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau have charged a man in realtion to a bomb threat.

On Thursday, Janaury 24, 2019, at approximately 2:45 p.m., an employee at a grocery store in the area of Bovaird Drive and Main Street in the City of Brampton received a phone call from a man who indicated that there was a bomb inside of the store. The store was evacuated and investigators from the Criminal Investigations Bureau were able to identify the man responsible for the phone call and arrested him without incident at a nearby residence.

A thorough search of the premise was conducted by officers along with an explosive detection canine unit and no explosives were located.

As a result of the investigation, Bryan Hulme a 23-year-old man from Brampton, was charged with the offence of Public Mischief and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on January 25, 2019.
