After a successful adaptation of the American TV series, 24, Anil Kapoor is now busy with the second season of the show as well as another Indian adaptation (of hit American sitcom, Modern Family). The actor said TV is where the future lies. “It’s great for filmmakers, production houses and even actors. If you see over there in Hollywood, big stars are either acting in TV shows or producing them. If they can do it, why shouldn’t we? It’s the right thing to do. TV has great storytelling, more exposure and bigger clientele, and of course, the reach is phenomenal. And if you are enjoying it, why not?” he has been quoted by a channel from India.
“With the TRP system changing and majority of the country being comprised of youngsters, the landscape of films is changing and although it will take time for TV too, things have to change. Anybody who doesn’t change is going to become irrelevant. Even channels that do not encourage this will shut down in 10 years,” adds Kapoor, whose remake of the Modern Family will be helmed by daughter, Rhea Kapoor.
