Dr Sudhir Gupta, who is sought to be removed as head of AIIMS forensic department, has alleged a “tacit understanding” between the institute’s Director and Congress leader Shashi Tharoor for making a “tailor-made” post-mortem report on Sunanda Pushkar’s death.
In a letter to Health Minister J P Nadda, who is also the president of AIIMS, he claimed there were certain emails which show a “tacit understanding” between AIIMS Dr MC Mishra and Tharoor over the post mortem of Pushkar, who had died under mysterious circumstances in a Delhi hotel in January last year.
“I was asked by Dr Mishra to give a post mortem report of Pushkar as natural death which was contrary to the findings,” he said in his letter dated May 28. However, Gupta said he did not succumb to pressure.
