Washington Redskins running back Adrian Peterson was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week. Peterson, who received the honor for the ninth time in his career, rushed for a season-high 149 yards on 26 carries in 20-13 win over the New York Giants. The 33 year oldhighlighted the performance with his second touchdown of the day — a 64-yard score — late in the fourth quarter to seal the victory. A former NFL Most Valuable Player, Peterson joined John Riggins (1984), George Rogers (1985), Terry Allen (1995), Stephen Davis (1999), Clinton Portis (2007,2008) and Alfred Morris (2012) as the only running backs in Redskins history to earn NFC Offensive Player of the Week awards since the honor’s inception in 1984.

“Sarfraz should be relieved of Test captaincy,” Mohsin

Sarfraz Ahmed should be relieved of Pakistan’s Test captaincy, the national board’s cricket committee chairman Mohsin Khan said, insisting that leading the side in all three formats has put him under too much pressure. The former batsman said the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) should hand over the Test captaincy to any other senior player to allow Sarfraz to focus completely on the 50-over and T20 formats.

“I have only made a suggestion because I personally feel there is too much pressure on Sarfraz as he wicketkeeper-batsman in the team. He looked exhausted during the Test series with Australia,” Khan said. Mohsin, a former chief selector and ex-coach of the team, said some relief should be given to Sarfraz. “Sarfraz’s body language was so down in the tournament in Asia Cup that I felt sorry for him. I was saying you got a new guy in, don’t put the burden of captaining the side in all three formats on him. It will make him exhausted,” he said.
